2004 - 2005 SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD INFORMATION

The NFCFL School Achievement Award recognizes schools that demonstrate excellence in all aspects of high school forensics.  The award is presented annually to the two (2) member schools that accumulate the greatest number of points during the league’s competition year.  Schools earn points by achieving the standards of excellence noted below.  Points accumulate through the end of the Grand Finals Tournament.  The announcement of the recipients of the School Achievement Award is made at the awards ceremony following the Grand Finals Tournament, with the coaches of the winning schools accepting the award on behalf of their forensics program and school.  The NFCFL Executive Committee administers this program.
 

Standard One:  Excellence in Administrative Responsibilities
a.  League membership finalized by October 15 (cards & fees returned):    1 point
b.  No drops after the 10:00 pm Wednesday deadline:        1 point per tournament
c.  All judges are present for all rounds of competition and missed no judge calls:       1 point per tournament
d.  No rejected scripts and Student Congress legislation at Grand Finals Script Review:   1 point
 

Standard Two:  Excellence in Attendance
a.  Official coach attendance at annual NFCFL Meeting:       1 point
b.  Official coach participation on NFCFL Script Review Committee:  1 point
c.  School participation (1 or more entries) at an NFCFL tournament:      1 point per tournament

d.  School participation (1 or more entries) at every NFCFL tournament and coach participation at one other league event (Fall Meeting or Script Review)

Standard Three:  Excellence in League Service
a.  Service on NFCFL Executive Committee:  2 points per year
b.  Service as Tournament Host:       2 points per event
c.  Service as League Special Event Host:          1 point per event
d.  Recruitment of first-time New Member School  2 points per school

e.  Outstanding service to NFCFL at event or through special project:   

 1 - 2 points per instance as determined by NFCFL Executive Board
 
Standard Four:  Excellence in Tournament Performance

a.  School qualifies and sends eight (8) or more entries to Grand Finals:            

 1 point
b.  School qualifies and sends one (1) or more entries to NCFL Nationals:   2 points
c.  School wins multiple championships in events at the same tournament:  1 point per instance
         --School wins championships in both debate events (TD and LD)         

 (winning both divisions of the same event does not count; winning at least one division in each event does count)

  
       --School wins championships in three (3) or more speech events (including Student Congress)
